Lambda Chi Alpha - University of Illinois - Champaign, Illinois • Fall 2020 Chi Zetagram Board Members Dedicated to Serving Chi Zeta Alumni Join the Alumni Association to Stay Connected to Our Brotherhood Hello, Chi Zeta alumni! Although there is no active chapter to work with, the Alumni Board is committed to serving you and preparing for future tasks. As we adjust to pandemic times, a Zoom board meeting was held on November 15 to discuss the primary issues to be dealt with. Regarding finances, it was agreed that the cash reserves will be invested as an endowment fund, which will generate income to support alumni board expenses and activities hereaer. e only expenses at this point will be insurance, newsletter/website communications, storage unit rent, alumni social events, and accounting fees. e legal and insurance needs of the Alumni Board changed when real estate ownership ended. e lawyers serving on the Alumni Board are adjusting the incorporation articles, bylaws, and insurance policies accordingly. All nine at-large members have agreed to remain in their positions. President Peter Kale '75 X1020 will be resigning his position and board membership at the end of this year, but will be available as needed for in-town tasks and advice. Mike Kadubek '86 X1268, Pete Berg '87 X1307, and Rich Knitter '78 X1078 will also be leaving the board. We thank all of them for their service to the chapter and the Alumni Association. Treasurer Dave Dutton '89 X1288 will resign from his office but remain on the Board. Matt Murphy '74 X1028 will continue as the secretary. Steve Parsons, ΦB341 will still be High Pi Chapter Advisor working with LXA International when chapter recolonization is pursued later next year. Kim Kardas '74 X997, Sean Chamberlin '14 X2076, Eric Mennel '84 X1207, Chris Gary '85 X1225, Mike Nora '12 X2020, and Joe Pawlak '83 X1181 will also remain on the board and work on alumni social events for next spring. Justin Zylberman '12 X2018 and Nick Schwartzkopf '15 X2120 have joined the board and will work on the newsletter and website production, which are important outlets to keep alumni in touch. You can see our board is a good group of alumni with a variety of ages and backgrounds. Your input is valuable as well. Board members need alumni on committees to help with the work. Any alumni interested in participating in a committee or the Alumni Board should contact Matt Murphy at MMurphy@BatesCarey.com to be included in the next Zoom meeting.
