FALL 2020 The Squirrel's Nest P S I C H A P T E R O F A L P H A G A M M A D E L T A A T T H E U N I V E R S I T Y O F A L A B A M A W e welcomed all 112 new members into Alpha Gamma Delta this fall semester. These new members have already become plugged in all throughout campus in SGA, directorship positions, Greek Ambassadors, Panhellenic, and other campus organizations. Despite the impact of COVID-19, our membership has remained engaged and involved on campus and in the community. This fall we have enjoyed seeking new ways to engage in service and philanthropy opportunities in Tuscaloosa. Members have joined organizations in the Center for Service and Leadership such as Al's Pals, UA Dance Marathon, B+ Positive, and more! We have hosted a percentage shopping day at a local boutique, won $1,500 toward philanthropy in a social media contest, and had a Venmo fundraiser benefiting the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation and West Alabama Food Bank. As a part of Hunger Action Month in September, we launched a partnership with Meals on Wheels Tuscaloosa to deliver food to Tuscaloosa elderly in need. We look forward to expanding our work and involvement in the community this spring! Psi Chapter is thrilled to announce that for the fourth consecutive semester, Alpha Gamma Delta earned the coveted #1 all-sorority rank in grades! Psi Chapter's overall GPA was 3.93 for the spring 2020 term. Our overall GPA for the fall term was a 3.67, another significant achievement well above the UA all-sorority GPA of 3.44 last fall. Psi Chapter recently received the Rose Bowl Award at our biennial international awards ceremony for achieving the highest GPA of all 198 Alpha Gamma Delta chapters! We are so very proud of our members for their determination to succeed and devotion to academic excellence! The women in our chapter go above and beyond in academics, involvement, philanthropy, and overall excellence. Psi Chapter placed in every category, and we are so honored to have received the Annulet Award. This is the first time Psi has received this honor! Our women have worked hard for two years, and we look forward to what Psi Chapter achieves in this next biennium.
