CityViewNC .com | 51 C ityView publisher Tony Chavonne was the keynote speaker for the inaugural PWC Presents CityView's Power of Giving Community Impact Awards Luncheon on Nov. 12 at Segra Stadium. e event recognized four winners, all of whom are making a difference in the lives of others and oen without seeking recognition in return: • Jelisa Montalvo, owner of Dorothy's Catering 2, a business that is carrying on the legacy started by her late grandmother, Dorothy McEachern. Montalvo, her staff and her family have served thousands of meals during hurricanes, helped single mothers and families in need throughout the year and have served hot meals and bagged lunches during the current pandemic. • Milton "Levi" Underwood, who retired in 2017 aer 34 years of hard work and crasmanship as owner of Underwood Masonry Company. Believing in the importance of sharing his knowledge and dedicated work ethic with others, he launched his Bricklayer Training Course. Some 40 students have since graduated from the course, learning a valuable trade that can enable them to earn a good living. • Robert Elliott, a Marine veteran, who founded an organization that helps others avoid the stress he faced once he transitioned out of the military. • Steven Godbold, founder of Eastside Volleyball Club, who puts in hours helping youngsters learn to share his love of competition.
