PI KAPPA ALPHA • UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS • FALL 2020 T his will be the last campaign letter that you receive from me as the Centennial Campaign for Pikes Honoring Our Legacy, Securing our Future project has officially ended with the opening and passing of the chapter house to the active chapter in August. I have been blessed to lead this campaign, as it opened the opportunity for me to meet and speak to Beta Mu alumni from pledge classes spanning 65 years. From older to younger, we have many talented men that are Beta Mu Pikes. I have also been fortunate to work alongside some very dedicated and hardworking Pikes who played critical roles in driving the chapter house plans, construction, finance, furniture, management, legal and down in the trenches follow-up on the financial pledges/commitments. On projects like this it takes a whole village, and our village showed up and made it happen! To all the alumni who supported this campaign with a gift or pledge, we cannot thank you enough for your support. The new chapter house would not have become a reality without you. To all alumni who have yet to give, we still need your help as the end of the campaign does not end our need for gifts. Further gifts and pledges will help lessen the debt that we have on the house. To continue supporting the new house's management and upkeep, an ongoing alumni effort is needed. Please stay tuned in early 2021 to learn more about the launch of a new Pike Legacy program to recognize distinguished Beta Mu alumni. This program will serve to raise modest funds for both house debt reduction and an envisioned scholarship program for Beta Mu undergraduates. I know you will be very proud of the new chapter house. It's been called the "nicest fraternity house on campus" by many, and the goal of establishing a new house for the modern fraternity man has been accomplished as Beta Mu begins its next century. As we said early in the campaign, we wanted to build this house for both the active chapter and the alumni, so the alumni have a place to stop by and reconnect with old friends during football season and other times of the year. COVID- 19 changed our plans for the dedication and housewarming, but we hope to reset a housewarming event when it is permissible to host a larger group at the house. It has been a great ride, and thanks very much for the support!
