3 The Hamm Outlook will be the perfect place for socializing and hanging out! The new and improved Senior Lounge from the Lynch Hanna Family is complete with cubbies, a pinboard wall, and a sliding Snack Shack door! T he Bishop Seabury Association of Parents (BSAP) supports school life by fostering strong relationships among the school, parents, teachers, and staff by offering opportunities for engagement. Service is a deeply embedded part of the school's culture, and as parents, we believe that we have a responsibility to be role models for our children by actively supporting our school community. There are two main ways to get involved with BSAP: volunteering on a committee or contributing to the BSAP fund. VOLUNTEERING BSAP is comprised of eight committees that help bring to fruition over 20 events and programs that we organize and host throughout the school year. We rely on parent support to make these happen. All parents/guardians are automatically members of BSAP, and we welcome and encourage everyone to get involved, weigh in, and be a part of everything we do. FINANCIAL SUPPORT BSAP is predominantly funded through our grocery gift card program. This program allows you to support BSAP and its efforts by purchasing monthly gift cards to your favorite local grocery stores. Grocery gift card orders can be placed online through seaburyacademy.org and by going to the BSAP page. Other funding sources include: • Dillons Community Rewards program: Select Bishop Seabury as the "recipient" on your Dillons Community Rewards program. • AmazonSmile: Designate Bishop Seabury as your recipient for AmazonSmile rewards. • Hy-Vee receipt rewards: Submit your Hy-Vee receipts for collection at school to be redeemed for benefits. • Box Tops for Education program: Use the Box Tops app to scan your receipts and earn cash for Bishop Seabury Academy. Being involved at Bishop Seabury as a parent means being meaningfully involved in your child's life. You'll get to know other parents, students, faculty, and staff, and you will create lasting relationships, build community, and contribute to a thriving school environment. For more information about BSAP, email bsap@seaburyacademy.org. How You Can Support the BSAP W hile back in Kansas this fall, Kayleigh has been doing voter registration and education with the League of Women Voters while she is finishing her senior year online at Smith. She is majoring in biology with a minor in exercise and sports studies. Kayleigh is pursuing sports medicine with a focus on orthopedic surgery and had this to say about her experience at Seabury: "Seabury classes provided me the opportunity to take theoretical information and skills from my classes and apply them in my research, like when I learned about gel electrophoresis in Ms. Schrader's Genetics and Biotechnology course. This allowed me to jump into a position in a genetics lab at KU and a biochemistry lab at Smith College due to my knowledge of 1-Dimensional SDS-PAGE gels." CatChing Up with Kayleigh Boos '17
