The Council adopted Ordinance No. 20-10 amending the Quartzsite Model City Tax Code to bring the Code cur- rent with changes made by the Arizo- na Municipal Tax Code Commission. This updates the Town Tax Code to be compatible with other municipalities and facilitate business transactions in the state. The Town Sales Tax rates are not changed by this Ordinance. Council also approved the purchase of a Pre-owned Vac-Truck for the Wastewater Dept. This truck will be used to clean out large diameter sewer lines, manholes and lift-stations. The purchase price of $77,620 will be paid 100% by USDA Rural Development grant funds remaining from the re- cent Wastewater Treatment Plant Ex- pansion Project. Council voted to hold a Zoom work session on Thursday, Sept. 17th at 7pm to review and discuss the Com- munity Outreach Funding Program guidelines and updating the Town Procurement Code. Council also voted to hold a Zoom Work Session on Sept. 21st at 7pm to consider restructuring the Parks & Recreation Committeee, establish an advisory Board appointment process and consideration of prgress on the Magistrate Court Building. Due to the risks to public health caused by the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus at public gatherings, the Council determined that for the time being public meetings will be held through technological means.
