16 www.thejewelrybook.com s We are filled with tons of color (Omi Prive, our cover is a stunning example) holiday gift ideas, and informative and inspirational editorial to navigate through these changing times. Although the times of late have been far from easy, we are committed to sharing real stories of hope and positivity in the midst of our daily changing lifestyles as planning and scheduling in advance seems to be the biggest challenge, so staying in the moment and being able to make a quick shift is key. The Jewelry Book has also made a few "shifts" and has added IGTV interviews to complement our magazine and to share our advertising partners with our retailer community by launching Sparkle Spotlights. We started a series with Kathleen Cutler, a modern day sales expert for the luxury retailer and designer, by sharing effective steps of how to venture into the virtual world---Kathleen's insights are right on point and she shares proven marketing tools for us all to consider----I hope that you all have some time to check out our past interviews on our Instagram @thejewelrybook (Please go to page ? with a recap of our current series.) Our Sparkle Spotlight includes IGTV interviews with our advertising partners so that they can share their new designs, inspirations and stories with you---I like to think of these chats as our industries own retailer trunk shows. Sparkle Spotlight is an up close and intimate way to meet a designer that you have been interested and admired from afar, or a way to see more designs to add to your current collection since travel, in store visits or trunk shows may not currently be an option---- this way you can still view the newest one-of-a-kind designs or on trend pieces. Over these past few months, jewelry seems to feel more meaningful than ever…. Jewelry has always been associated with special moments weather a celebration of an engagement, anniversary, birthday, graduation or the gift of a cherished heirloom, as a reminder of a loved one. With that being said, I wanted to share an editorial by our intern Ava Rognlien (pg). Ava is a part of Generation Z, and this editorial should be a positive "affirmation" that jewelry is alive and well. Ava is an insightful and conscientious young lady who cares about humanity and is not afraid to be involved. During Black Lives matter, I was moved by both her passion and action that she took to make a difference. Through our conversations I learned that Ava was the Editor of her school newspaper in high school and had also won a local editorial award, at that moment, I knew she had to put pen to paper. Our industry has always been concerned about the new "generations" and how they view jewelry; or really the impor- tance of it in their lives (or lack there of) well, once you read this article, you will see the power and emotion of jewelry is still alive and well as her story reflects the emotion that comes with a special piece of jewelry. While our sense of right and wrong, our safety and health are making us all take a pause and get involved, we can rest assured that our industry still has a sentimental power in all of our lives that will never go away. Keep working and making the necessary "shifts" in your business to create your foundation for a successful 4th quarter holiday season….Listen, connect and put to practice all of the new selling tools to make this gift giving season extra special for your customers----with all that we have gone through, all of us are looking for connections, and our industry is here to make dreams come true with gifts of love, commitment and hope! I Publisher's Letter Nicole Bromstad am delighted to be able to share with you our summer issue of The Jewelry Book. www.thejewelrybook.com I
