This stratus slows the ripening process and gives us a long hang time to develop the phenolics of the clusters and cool-climate aromatics to develop. The river valley offers fertile soils of ancient marine and volcanic basalt sediment, providing the mineral streak and an intense berry-focused palate. A great acidic backbone that adds nerve and tension is a signature element to our Auteur. This acidity comes from our Sonoma Coast's wild diurnal temperature swings of up to 50 degrees in a single day. Sustainable and organic farming practices with committed partners is a must when we work with any site. What we put in the ground is what we drink. We demand no round-up or harsh chemicals in our farming.
