From March to June, more than 200 area vol- unteers, with over 700 volunteer hours, were part of the nation’s largest cleanup, beautification and community improvement pro- gram in the country. KSB’s community-wide spring clean up event was very suc- cessful. Over 44,000 pounds of litter, debris and bulky waste was cleaned up along 68 miles of road way and 400 pounds of plastic, glass and metal contain- ers were collected for recycling. There were also several beautification projects conducted throughout the City that included planting trees, flowers and cleaning up vacant lots in local neighborhoods. KSB applauds the efforts of these volunteers to reduce litter, recycle, and beautify the neighborhoods, which helps to bring about a cleaner, greener, safer and more beautiful com- munity for all to enjoy!
