By Dinice Ross, Hi Jolly Cemetery, Records/Historian (Continued) Scott Children Part 2: The last 4 children of Angela and Wm.E. Scott continue in their journeys into adulthood, bringing with it the continuation of the Scott Dynasty. Of the 12 children, 10 are buried in the Hi Jolly Pioneer Cemetery. Headstone Reads: BELOVED HUSBAND & FATHER JESSE G SCOTT SEPTEMBER 15 1911 DECEMBER 30 2004 Born: 9/15/1911 (Quartzsite was still the Territory of AZ). Died: 12/30/2004 at age 94 (In 2004 Jessie was the oldest living pioneer of Quartzsite) Buried: Plot 116. Mother: Angelita (Angela). Father: Wm. E. Scott. Siblings: 11. Wife: Angelina (Angie) Marquez Scott (born Vaughn, New Mexico 1928. Living in Quartzsite at 84 years old (as of 2012). In 1992 and 1999 Jessie was the Grand Marshall of the Hi Jolly Daze Parade. He worked as a Welder for the Southern Pacific Railroad Lines in New Mexico for 37 years -19371974 (he was known as "Scotty the Welder"). In the 1950's Jesse transferred with the railroad to Indio and moved his family back to his ancestral home in Quartzsite. Jesse drove home to Quartzsite each weekend to be with his wife Angie and their children: Frank, Victoria, and Jessica. On weekends Jesse would also help Ben with the cattle round up, tending to the windmills and other work on the vast Scott's Ranch. He was also a prospector, cattle-man, storekeeper, pool hall proprietor, barber, master craftsman, financier, water supplier, sportsman, historian, humorist and avid wrestling fan. He was many things to many people. He loved his music and loved to sing and dance. Jessie helped build the three large water tanks that can be seen as you enter Los Angeles on Interstate 10. During WWII Jesse tried to enlist in the Army and the Navy, but they said that it was more important for him to keep the railroad tracks in good repair at that time, as most of the equipment and troops were being transported across the country by rail. Frank Scott (Son), Kym Scott & Sandy Scott (Grandson and Granddaughter), Haley, Jordan and Jeffrey (Great grandkids) –This makes the five generations of Scott's that have lived in Quartzsite. Anita Scott Canty (Park, AZ): Born: 1/27/1914. Married: Zell Canty –Passon and moved to Parks, AZ near Flagstaff, AZ (still living in Parks, AZ at age 98 years old) She had 4 children: Leroy , Carolyn, Georgia and Diana. Anita sold her cattle herd brand to Frank M. Scott (son of Jesse G. Scott) who purchased it for a token price of $10.00 to "make it legal" – the last of all the Scott brands. Anita is the last living 2nd generation of the Scotts' from Quartzsite – 98 years old as of 2012 Headstone Reads: THOMAS G SCOTT SGT US ARMY WORLD WAR II 1917 1977 Thomas Gonzales Scott – Born: 3/17/1917. Died: 5/17/1977 at age 60. Buried: Plot 99. Mother: Angelita (Angela). Father: William E. "Tommy" was the youngest son of the Scott clan. He helped with the cattle ranch. Served in the US Army Air Force as a Cook (US Army WWII). Tommy liked his wine. After he died they hauled off about 5 dump trucks of wine bottles from his back yard! (Per: Gean Senter who bought the old Scott Place and turned it into a duplex). Tommy helped build his Mom's new home – about 4'to 5' off the ground on the south side of the new highway 60 & 70 at that time (now B-10). Frances Scott Hazelwood-Jennings: born 8/21/1920. Died 1957 at age 37. Mother: Angelita (Angela). Father Wm. E. Scott. Siblings:11 The Children of Frances are: Mildred, May 1, 2013 Janice, Joyce, Angela and John. Frances worked in the family grocery store, then married Fred Hazelwood –a young boy from L.A and moved to California. Her second Husband was Al Jennings. Frances's Daughter - Mildred F. Hazelwood-Pollereno (known as "Mickie") ashes are buried in Plot 120 (at the foot of her Grandmother Angela Scott's Plot 7). Her headstone reads "NOW THAT I'VE GONE JUST LET ME GO. I'LL BE ALL RIGHT I'M WITH GRANDMA YOU KNOW". 36th Annual Great Western Tube Float Parker, AZ - June 8th is the date!
