Daniel had a terrific semester prior to the coronavirus outbreak. Through our academics, friendship, leadership, and service, we have been continuing the legacy of the great men before us, as well as developing and growing as a chapter and as gentlemen. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT Last fall, Illinois Beta marked a 3.01 GPA. This has been the fourth consecutive semester with a cumulative GPA north of 3.0. Also, Scholarship Chairman Charles Martell '23 implemented mandatory study hours for those members below the chapter GPA. We are confident this will benefit all moving forward. FRATERNITY ACTIVITIES ON HOLD We had a blast coordinating social events with the sororities on campus this semester, and we are disappointed not all came to fruition. Some of the sororities that we had events and activities planned with are Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Gamma, Alpha Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Delta Delta Delta. This semester, we had planned a few philanthropic events thanks to the help from Philanthropy Chairman Jack McKerr '22. We'll return this fall ready to give back to our community. SPRING HIGHLIGHTS This spring, we had seven new brothers join our family, and our brotherhood has now been expanded to 121 gentlemen. We welcomed these men all from the Chicagoland area, and we are excited to see what new ideas and qualities that they can bring to the membership once we are back in the chapter house this fall. We also thank the Alumni Association for extending scholarship awards to the following brothers: Cameron Cutler '22 Chris Fox '22 Michael Gerzonovicz '22 Sean Merrigan '22 Michael Ragauskis '20 Ben Wagner '22 These scholarships were given based on strong academics (GPA ranging from 3.4 to 3.9), embodying the values of the True Gentleman (service and merit), and by taking on leadership positions. We are extremely grateful for the steadfast alumni support, and we look forward to reconnecting in the future.
