In 2020, I don't think that we could have imagined the environment in which we are currently living. Everyone is going through a multitude of emotions. It is a virus that doesn't discriminate by the color of your skin, your gender, education or economic stature… we are all vulnerable. Every day that passes, each state, city, and industry is moving closer to our new normal society. As our world starts to slowly open up again, we have begun to discover new ways to live our daily lives, teach our children, and return to work. Today, our small company is utilizing this time as an advantage to make the appropriate changes to produce a digital-only Spring Issue. With turbulent times, it is vital to keep our brands and stories visible. Advertising is not the fat to be trimmed off, but the muscle that can strengthen our brands. We have designed this issue with the intent to showcase more designs along with special sections for the Italians at the Gioielli Group, Silver Association, and Platinum. We have included advertorials that can speak to you about how to weather these times - Pam Levine, an experienced brand specialist (pg.16), and Kathleen Cutler, who shares specifi c examples that are working for her luxury clients right now. Peter Smith, a long time contribu- tor, offers his expert opinions on how to navigate in retail stores. To help us maintain focus, executive coach Dana Freudenberger encourages the opportunity to help us pursue what we are capable of achieving. Lastly, for our relaxation time, I have included an escape to my home town in the Sonoma Valley wine country providing a locally owned boutique winery, Auteur. Not only do we all enjoy a nice glass of wine, but both of these industries are also rich in tradition and family values working together from one generation to the next... I hope that you enjoy the new edition of The Jewelry Book as we want to be your luxury trade publication. I admire the industry, and I am always excited to showcase all of your stories and beautiful designs. As always, I thank you for your continued support and I encourage you to contact me with any suggestions that you would like to share. Although these times are challenging, remember to take a deep breath, convey gratitude, stay inspired and hopeful each and every day — take time to refl ect. As we move forward, be reminded to take a pause and enjoy our freedom, health, and families. Stay well, and here is to the future… Stay well, and here is to the future… O Publisher's Letter NICOLE BROMSTAD 14 www.thejewelrybook.com h my... where to begin? t Bellarri
