Charcuterie
The term charcuterie originated
in France and originally referred
to the art of preparing and
assembling cured meats.
Think about
adding pops
of color with
items such as
strawberries,
blackberries,
cherry
tomatoes,
green olives
and herbs.
Small bowls
are handy
for dips and
small items.
Charcuterie boards are versatile and can be prepared on wooden cutting
boards, glass trays and granite slabs. Caroline Hasty prepared this one on a
handled melamine tray by Beatriz Ball (available at Betty Kelly's Gift Shop).
Go for sweet and
savory, i.e., topping
goat cheese or brie
with preserves.
It's easy to roll or
fold deli meats to
look pretty.
The board should
look full, but not
overloaded.
