The College previously loaned the health system four medical ventilators. "It's our pleasure and our honor to provide this personal protective equipment to support our healthcare providers as they combat the COVID-19 virus," said FTCC President J. Larry Keen. "These are the heroes on the front lines, and we support them. FTCC is continuing to educate and train people in these vital healthcare fields." FTCC also donated 150 masks and hundreds of gloves to the N.C. State Veterans Home. FTCC shifted to online education and teleworking for staff to continue educating and supporting students to prepare them for their future. We salute our faculty members and staff for their unwavering commitment to our mission. We thank our students for placing their trust in us to meet their educational needs. Jared Ostendorf, who owns the Fayetteville franchise of the national business said that, as a business owner himself, he wanted to come up with an idea to help other businesses during these difficult times. "We recognized there were businesses that were still open, but that people didn't know they were open," Ostendorf said. "We reached out to a few of our customers." Ostendorf offered to print free 3-by-5 banners for 50 businesses, so the owners could post the signs to let customers know they were open. The gesture was so successful that International Minuteman Press ended up offering another run for a total of 100 banners. While the banners feature the IMP logo and each business's phone number, some businesses have paid to have the banners further customized. "Hey, we want to help our customers stay in business," Ostendorf said. "If they stay in business, we will too." Toward that end, Ostendorf said he is supporting an initiative entitled Bounce Back Fayetteville. International Minuteman Press is distributing a COVID-19 awareness and prevention poster at no charge to all businesses in Fayetteville.
