Plesiosaurus
The Plesiosaurus was an aquatic reptile with a long neck and a small head that lived in both fresh and salt water. It was very
large, but not very fast. Its long neck was out of proportion to its short, rounded body containing four protruding flippers
and a short tail. It swung its long neck from side to side in the water to catch fish. Some people believe the fabled Loch Ness
monster in Scotland (whose existence has never been proven) was a plesiosaurus.
