W
ith the spring semester underway,
Pi Deuteron hit the ground running.
We welcomed 35 new Brothers, initiating the
class of 2023 on January 25
th
. These young
men have made great strides throughout
the year and proven themselves worthy of
carrying out the values of FIJI that we hold
so deeply.
Brothers received good news to start off the
new decade as our cumulative GPA has risen
to the highest it has been in recent years with
a 3.27, good enough for sixth overall on The
Hill. We have instituted an academic support
system to help Brothers who struggled
through the semester with their studies. Our
goal for the spring semester is a 3.30 GPA,
which would place us in the top four on
The Hill.
Pi Deuteron held our inaugural Alumni
Casino Night this semester. All the proceeds
raised went to Watts of Love, a non-profit
organization where Brother Kevin Kuster '91
is a founding member and creative director.
Everyone in attendance had an absolute blast
being back at the Chapter House. The event
was a roaring success, as we raised $4,570.
We hope to make this an annual event the
same time of year, so make sure to mark your
calendars!
We have dealt with a lot here the past year or
so. I can truly say I never thought we would
deal with any situation like this coronavirus,
let alone have our year cut short due to
it. This is just a small bump in the road.
I can assure you we are doing everything
as a cabinet to plan out the fall and have
tremendous success then. We still look
forward to conducting Stars and Stripes week
with the gentlemen of Beta Theta Pi in the fall
to benefit the USO. Along with that we look
forwarding to welcoming a brand-new pledge
class. Together we will all continue to strive
for excellence. We are all mighty proud to be
FIJIs!
Fraternally,
