P A G E 3 | N O T E S O F T H E L Y R E T hough we're only a few months into the new year, things are already off to a great start for Phi. Improving the chapter's GPA was a big focus in 2019. We implemented study plans for all members below a 3.0 GPA, rewarded all women who achieved above a 3.5 GPA, and there was an extra special reward for women with a 4.0 GPA for the semester. Our methods seem to be working as our chapter GPA is on the rise—increasing from spring to fall! Supporting Healthy Relationships Phi maintains a close relationship with the Willow Domestic Violence Shelter. Last semester, we donated over $7,000 directly to Willow from our Walk a Mile in Her Shoes philanthropy event. Our chapter as a whole earned 2,303 volunteer hours in the fall, which amounts to over 10 hours per member! For our annual Healthy Relationships Week, we tabled on campus, participated in a community service event, and hosted a sisterhood event to promote healthy relationships in our chapter and on campus. COVID-19 Impact While we were able to accomplish a lot in the two months that we were on campus, a lot of our favorite events were canceled due to KU moving the remainder of the semester to online. We cherish our sisterhood and continue to stay connected via different online communications. We look forward to the fall and being back with our sisters at our home on 1500 Sigma Nu Place. We hope that when all of the stay-at-home orders are lifted and it is safe to be back on campus, that you will join us for Mock Recruitment. As always, we welcome alumnae recruitment recommendations and you can complete yours online through Lyre Links. Please come say hello if you find yourself in Lawrence!
