EPSILON OMICRON NEWS A PUB L IC A TIO N O F A L PHA TA U O MEG A F R A TER NITY OK L A HO MA S TA TE UNIV ER S ITY s S PR ING 2020 A s brothers of Alpha Tau Omega, we're used to setting high expectations for ourselves and each other. Building a new house to meet the needs of our Chapter is no exception. We know we've set ambitious goals for this campaign, but we're confident Epsilon Omicron is up to the challenge. Construction plans are in development with a goal to demolish the Chapter House in May 2021. The active members will be housed on campus while construction is ongoing to keep our brotherhood together. Ultimately, we would like to see the Chapter House completed by August 2022 in time for the fall semester. But your buy-in is essential to our timeline. Thanks to ATΩ alumni, parents, friends, former little sisters, and former house moms more than $1.5 million is pledged toward our $3 million campaign goal—we're over 50% of the way there. We appreciate every donation, regardless of size, and we're especially appreciative of a recent ATΩ graduate who pledged $2,500, even though he still has student loans and graduate school to finish. So far about 11 percent of our 700-plus living alumni are participating in the campaign. Brothers, we need all hands on deck to reach our goal and be able to start construction of the new Chapter House. The great thing is you don't need to make all of your donation now; you can spread your pledge over five years to maximize your contribution. Use the enclosed pledge form to make a one-time gift or a multi-year pledge that fits your budget. It only takes a few minutes of your time. Remember donations of $25,000 or more will be eligible for tax deductibility. While it's a new decade, we're the same Epsilon Omicron. Our standards are high. Our membership is driven. Our goals for 2020 and beyond are bold. It's crucial for our alumni and undergraduate brothers to be united as we work to build a better Chapter House. Now is the time—make your commitment today! After attending what was once known as Oklahoma A&M for a couple of years, he went into the Air Corps during World War II. Fortunately for Tom, he did not see any combat during his tour of service before being discharged mid-year in 1946. Following his service, he went back to A&M to complete his mechanical engineering degree. He also added "Honorary Charter Member of Epsilon Omicron Chapter of ATΩ" to his résumé. "Most of us were probably selected because we were honor students, and the Dr. of Economics, who was the founding professor, appointed us to ATΩ," he stated. "We met a lot of good friends who were smart and competitive while attending school, compared to dormitory living." Though Tom's experience was vastly different from today's brothers, he understands the limitations with the size of the Chapter House. The house he knew as an undergraduate was small, approximately 1,600 square feet with only two bedrooms. (Continued on page 2)
