The Rogers Historical Museum, an American Alliance of Museums accredited institution, is a department of the City of Rogers and serves all of the people of Northwest Arkansas. The museum is supported by two outstanding non- profit organizations: the Friends of the Rogers Historical Museum and the Rogers Museum Foundation. The Museum is governed by a five member commission, which is appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council, and is responsible for making and maintaining policies, standards, and operational continuity. Daily operations are managed by an eight member staff, with support from a loyal group of volunteers. Shiloh Museum of Ozark History 118 W Johnson Ave, Springdale (479) 750-8165 Hours: Open 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday Admission: Free Another museum encompassing regional history is the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, established in 1968. Located in downtown Springdale, the Shiloh Museum gets its name from the 1840s pioneer town that would later become chartered as Springdale. The Shiloh Museum houses five permanent exhibits and several rotating special exhibits, and on top of the 22,000 square feet of indoor museum, there are also six historic buildings outside on the grounds for guests to visit. With the interactive exhibits and costumes for kids, guests can really get the feel of what life was like in the Ozark pioneer communities of old. Siloam Springs Museum 112 N. Maxwell St., Siloam Springs (479) 524-4011 Hours: Open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday. Admission: Free (donations accepted). The Siloam Springs Museum preserves, interprets, and celebrates the heritage of an area with a rich past. At the Siloam Springs Museum, you can explore the past through permanent and rotating exhibits highlighting Native American culture, pioneer life, medicine and many other facets of local history. Tontitown Historical Museum 251 E. Henri de Tonti Blvd., Tontintown (479) 361-2700 Hours: Open 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday- Sunday, or by appointment. Housed in the former home of two of Tontitown's original settlers, the sisters Mary and Zelinda Bastianelli, the Tontitown Historical Museum opened in August of 1986. In the Museum you'll find photographs of and artifacts belonging to the original Italian settlers of Tontitown. Casinos Northwest Arkansas may not have any casinos but its close proximity to Eastern Oklahoma means Las Vegas style gaming is only a short drive away offering you a romantic weekend getaway or just an exciting night out. All casinos are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cherokee Casino 2416 US-412, West Siloam Springs, OK 800-754-4111 Located in West Siloam Springs this casino and hotel has countless amenities sure satisfy all your needs. The casino boasts a variety of games including 900 slot machines, 12-table poker room with Texas Hold 'Em, Omaha poker, and seven card stud, live craps, live roulette, and blackjack. They also feature weekly specials like Taple Top Tuesdays and Winning Wednesday.
