Eleanor Prunty and Lynn Muirhead exemplify this important lesson in a meaningful and personal manner. In 1987 Eleanor Prunty and her husband, Bob, moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. Lynn and her husband, Lloyd, moved there sometime later. Introduced by a mutual friend, the couples quickly became good friends. Over the years they fished, boated, played cards and golfed together. They went on several trips, including Alaska and Canada. In short, they created a tapestry of wonderful memories. Like many friends, their paths diverged as they grew older. Eleanor and her husband, Bob, eventually moved to South Dakota to be near their children. Time passed and the years flew by as the friendship became memories. In September 2019, after Eleanor's husband passed away, she moved back to Arkansas to live at Village on the Park Bentonville. Then, as fate would have it, Lloyd and Lynn Muirhead moved into Village on the Park Bentonville shortly afterwards in October. When Eleanor recognized her dear friends, it was as if they had never been separated. Eleanor and Lynn now play bridge once a week with other residents from Bella Vista. Eleanor and Lynn's bond teaches us an important lesson about the value of friendship; how it changes our lives for the better, how it makes our moments more meaningful, and how friendship endures the test of both time and geography. As Taplin puts it, "No measure of distance or duration of silence can prevent the outbreak of smiles and laughter or the strong desire to leap into each other's arms when they come together once more."
