Chapter House Exterior
Renovation Plans Move Forward
Alumni Support Vital for Completion
I
n November, we shared plans to renovate and upgrade the exterior of
the chapter house, including a new sport court, for Kansas Beta—our
way of bringing something "new" to Sigma Alpha Epsilon. But this
project is a lot more than a place to play basketball.
Our fraternity is not the only one that understands upgrades and
improvements must be made to stay on top. PIKE, FarmHouse, and DU
are already completing renovations and additions to their facilities. While
we are proud of the quality of our men, our chapter house must up its
curb appeal to keep our competitive edge.
INSIDE THE PROJECT
The house corporation's plans for this project go beyond simply redoing
the basketball court—it's a full-scale exterior renovation. These updates
will provide ample space for our undergraduates and will serve as a
communal space for parents and alumni returning to campus.
A few of the features you can expect:
• Repainted exterior in historical colors
• Outdoor cooking and gathering space
• Revamped landscaping and lighting
• Basketball court
OUR TIMELINE
As a board, we've already hired a contractor and submitted our plans to
the Manhattan zoning board. That appeal was approved in January 2020.
The goal is to have all documents completed in March and construction
completed before the men return to campus for the fall semester in
August 2020.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
To execute this project to the level we've planned, $250,000 is needed.
The house corporation, alongside three generous alumni, is matching
alumni donations dollar for dollar. Our $125,000 challenge is vital to
covering the cost of this much-needed renovation. So far, thanks to
supportive alumni, we have raised nearly $50,000 toward this project.
Help us close the gap and raise the remaining $75,000. You can
double your impact by making your gift to the Kansas Beta House
Association today.
Each of us committed to a lifetime membership in Kansas Beta during
initiation. Now it's on us to ensure that membership still benefits
undergraduates and alumni alike. With just a few minutes of your time,
you can decide the future of this brotherhood. How do you want Kansas
Beta to remember you?
