"There was a lot of comradery and good fun between them." When Jim joined Indiana Alpha, it was in the midst of a rebuilding period which gave him the opportunity to contribute and make a difference through leadership positions such as new member president, recruitment co-chairman, and house manager. Living with 70+ other young men at 690 Waldron taught Jim the importance of diversity and being able to see situations through someone else's eyes. By embracing the variety of backgrounds and experiences Jim and his brothers formed a bond that would last a lifetime. "Whenever we are together, no matter how many years it's been, it takes five minutes to feel like you spoke yesterday," Jim said of his brothers. At a time when many fraternities were a stereotype, SigEp was unique in its complexity, which required us to get to know and respect each other for our differences, and this created a stronger brotherhood. Years later, Jim's daughter, Dresden, joined Pi Beta Phi at Purdue in 2013, giving him the chance to reconnect with the chapter as Pi Phi was football buddies with SigEp. Jim enjoyed reconnecting with brothers when he would visit his daughter during Homecoming and Dads Weekend. "Dresden would seek SigEps out at every game to visit their tailgates and get to know more and more of them," Jim said. "She would even call them by their college nicknames. Getting to know my brothers brought her and I closer." Despite the positives, Jim noticed that things had changed since his days as an active member. "The fraternity seemed like a shadow of what I remembered it to be," Jim said. "Neither of us had the relationship with SigEp that I had envisioned." He wanted to get involved and see the SigEp return to the fraternity he remembered. Jim was encouraged DETERMINED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, JIM MOSCH '80 SUPPORTS INDIANA ALPHA'S FUTURE AT 690 WALDRON
