Chi Zetagram 4 Rich Knitter '78 X1078 moved into the house when the 1977 addition was still being built and lived in the house in "triples" living in tight quarters. Rich moved to California before graduate commencement exercises in 1979 and lived in both Los Angeles and San Francisco for 10 years. Relocating back to Chicago to care for parents, Rich started an appraisal and consulting firm which has kept him busy over the years. Rich has been married to Sharon for 38 years, and they have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Avalanche. Rich has taken up golf and paddle tennis. Recent travels range from Uganda and Corsica to inland China and Patagonia. You can connect with Rich at knitter@greatrealty.com. Pete Berg '87 X1307 served as both High Delta and High Alpha while at Chi Zeta from 1986 to 1990. Since graduation, Pete has lived mainly in the Chicago area working in sales and sales leadership for various technology companies. Today, he and his wife, Delynne, live in Naperville with their high school age son and daughter who are twins, and they enjoy family travels, snow skiing, watersports, and following several sports teams. Pete can be reached at peteberg77@gmail.com. Alumni Board Spotlights: Rich Knitter '78 X1078 and Peter Berg '87 X1307 C hi Zeta has borne adversity against their mission to make ΛXA Chi Zeta the premier fraternity at the University of Illinois. That mission is not over—our alumni's dedication to the perseverance of the fraternity will continue in the recolonization effort. To continue that mission, I hope the recolonization effort solidifies and enforces a code of conduct at the fraternity. Each member must agree to hold themselves accountable for the whole fraternity as outlined from the ΛXA statutory code and direction from the alumni board. Secondly, the recolonization effort must continue to encourage the involvement from all Chi Zeta alumni. Moving on from the past will take some time. However, with the help of the 1,000+ living alumni from Chi Zeta, there are few things we cannot achieve at Chi Zeta. Yours in ZAX, Mike Nora '12 X2020 C hi Zeta has been through some tough times over the past few years. The way I see it now, we have a chance for a fresh start to make a new name for ourselves—one that is respected at the University of Illinois and seen as the ideal fraternity. We must show the future members how to act with a sense of accountability so that something like this never happens again. The only way we can ensure a successful recolonization effort is by staying together as alumni and helping future members of Chi Zeta understand what it truly means to be part of Lambda Chi. In order to do this, stay involved and up to date on what is going on with Chi Zeta. We are always looking for more ideas and people to help, so let's stay together and help lead the next generation of members at Chi Zeta.
