BQP THETA DELTA DRAGON Beta Theta Pi at The Ohio State University • Spring 2020 T he new decade is already bright for Beta Theta Pi. We are excited to have a record number of 52 brothers living in the Chapter House. Having the best house on campus has immensely improved our recruitment efforts. Recruitment events have been crowded with brothers because everybody in the Chapter cares and dedicates their time so that Beta can recruit the next best wave of young men at The Ohio State University. We welcomed 33 new members this spring, bringing our total to 146 dedicated brothers. Celebrating the Past, Looking to the Future Former President Tommy Weber '20 is looking forward to being on the alumni association board upon graduation. "I am sad to leave the Chapter but also very proud at the same time. I am proud because the Theta Delta Chapter has had tremendous growth and success throughout my time here and I know it is going to stay that way," he said. Tommy knows Theta Delta will have sustained success because of the examples the senior members set every year. When he was a new member, he looked up to the seniors in every way possible. Now that he is in their spot, Tommy and his brothers are doing their best to set great examples too. "I am excited to join my brothers who graduated before me in joining the alumni association. I know firsthand what the alumni contribute to the Chapter's success and I am excited to help and participate in a new role in the Theta Delta Chapter." What to Look for in 2020 Current President Trey Hommer '21 is also very excited and looking forward to this semester. With a strong executive board, Trey knows great things will get done. The brothers' participation in Buckeython, a campus-wide philanthropy event, helped raise over $1.7 million for the Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus last year. Beta has broken numerous Greek records, including raising more than $23,000 for Buckeyethon becoming the top fraternity fundraiser this year! "Beta once again has a strong campus reputation and we look forward to maintaining this for the future," Trey said. BETA THRIVING AGAIN AT OHIO STATE "My experiences working with Beta Theta Pi at Ohio State University have been really positive. The Chapter and its leaders have been cooperative and friendly to work with. More than anything, the Chapter president's willingness to assist with our office's education and outreach for the sorority and fraternity community exemplifies true leadership and partnership." – Aaron Reistad, Case Manager at the Office of Student Life Student Conduct CAMPAIGN COMING TO A CLOSE!
