"Wilmington on Fire" Film Screening and Panel Discussion Arts Council of Fayetteville/ Cumberland County, 301 Hay St. The Arts Council of Fayetteville| Cumberland County and the Black on Black Project will host a film screening of "Wilmington on Fire," a documentary about the only successful coup in the United States history. FEBRUARY 6 – APRIL 9 "Regional Artistry: A Unified Vision" Methodist University's David McCune International Art Gallery, opening reception Feb. 6 The gallery presents an invitational ex- hibit, with an opening reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 6. At 7 p.m. on opening night, the artists will be avail- able for a gallery talk. The exhibit fea- tures the works of 14 local and regional artists. Seven of the artists also serve as members of the gallery's advisory board, including Stephanie Bostock, Manisha Devasthali, Guy Jencks, Sandi McFarlane, Beth Williams Pryor, Muriel Roux and Skylor Swann. The exhibit is free and open to the public; however, there is a suggested donation of $10 per visitor. All works exhibited are for sale, with proceeds to benefit the McCune Gallery in support of operational fund- ing for future exhibits. FEBRUARY 7, 11 A.M. – 3 P.M. Bread 'n Bowls Haymount United Methodist Church The 13th Annual Bread n' Bowls is a luncheon to support the ministry of Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch. Valentine's Day Murder Mystery Day Theatre Crowne Complex This event features fine dining with an interactive murder mystery, complete with wine and dessert. Carolina UnCork'd Crowne Expo Carolina UnCork'd Wine, Chocolates, and Crafts Festival celebrates the spirit of collaboration by offering an array of selections from regional wineries and chocolatiers, including a variety of spirits and craft beers. Over 100 of Carolina's premier wineries, breweries, distilleries, restaurants, cheese makers, bakers, and chocolatiers will offer samples. FEBRUARY 20, 5 P.M.–7 P.M. Reciprocal Ekphrasis Reception Methodist University's Union- Zukowski Lobby and Gallery The reception will highlight the exhibit Reciprocal Ekphrasis: Images and Po- ems, Poems and Images, which is on- going through the entire year. The ex- hibit features the work of student artists and student poets as an interdisciplinary collaboration between the school's writing program and art department. FEBRUARY 22, 7 P.M. Lift Every Voice & Sing! Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Cumberland Choral Arts presents a musical journey through black history. The concert will pay homage to Afri- can-American Opera Singers, and will include music from Broadway shows/ films, traditional spirituals/gospel, as well as poetry/spoken word. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door. FEBRUARY 25, 7:30–8:30 P.M. "Legends" Methodist University's Huff Concert Hall The Fayetteville Symphonic Band and MU Concert Band come together for the third concert of the season. The se- lections for this concert are inspired by some of the most epic myths and leg- ends of all time. Notable works featured on the program include Gustav Holst's "Mars," "Night on Bald Mountain" by Modest Mussorgsky, and the "Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld."
