He works in the Harper Medical Clinic as well as the Rural Health Clinic in Atticus two days a week. Richard was on call for the emergency room in their Critical Access Hospital one night per week and approximately one weekend a month for many years. Since Richard's semi-retirement in October 2017, he now only works in the clinic. He and his wife, Karen, have been married for 40 years and have three children and three grandchildren. Email: aldisfive@gmail.com William Rinehart '49 lives in a retirement village, often described as a cruise ship on land, in Tulsa, Okla. He follows KU sports, as do a handful of other Jayhawk fans who reside there. "Always glad to learn what's going on at the Shelter. Many pleasant memories of my four years at 1111 West 11th." Email: vern.shull@yahoo.com James Gossett '63 earned his master's degree in environmental engineering after his years at KU. He served four years with the Navy and spent his entire career with a civil/environmental engineering consulting firm. After retirement in 2002, James and his wife, Laura, followed the advice of George Fletcher '63 and moved to Greenville, S.C. During retirement he has served 14 years on the board of directors of the Conestee Foundation, a small nonprofit that has transformed a 130-acre brownfield site containing the pollution legacy of Greensville's industrial past into a 400-acre public green space providing outdoor recreation, a wildlife sanctuary, and environmental education benefits.
