village, often described as a cruise ship on land,
in Tulsa, Okla. He follows KU sports, as do a
handful of other Jayhawk fans who reside there.
"Always glad to learn what's going on at the
Shelter. Many pleasant memories of my four years
at 1111 West 11th." Email: wgrjr98@aol.com

James Gossett '63 earned his master's degree
in environmental engineering after his years at
KU. He served four years with the Navy and
spent his entire career with a civil/environmental
engineering consulting firm. After retirement
in 2002, James and his wife, Laura, followed
the advice of George Fletcher '63 and moved
to Greenville, S.C. During retirement he has
served 14 years on the board of directors of
the Conestee Foundation, a small nonprofit
that has transformed a 130-acre brownfield site
containing the pollution legacy of Greensville's
industrial past into a 400-acre public green
space providing outdoor recreation, a wildlife
sanctuary, and environmental education
benefits. James also loves to travel, read, and
visit his grandchildren and friends. Email:
