LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Offi ce announces the temporary closure and restriction of selected public lands for the 2020 Best In The Desert's Parker 250 and 425 races in La Paz County. The temporary closure will be in effect Jan. 11- 12 and Jan. 24-25, 2020. The temporary restrictions will be in effect Jan. 9-12, and Jan. 22-25, 2020. Access to public lands in and around the race course will be temporarily closed, restricted, or designated as spectator areas. Restricted and closed areas will be marked at key access points with signage, fencing, or barri- ers. Maps and information regarding both designated race course closures and impacted restricted areas are attached. Copies of the maps are also available at the Lake Havasu Field Offi ce, 1785 Kiowa Ave., Lake Havasu City, Arizona. For further information, contact the Lake Havasu Field Of- fi ce 928-505-1200. The VFW Auxiliary to Post 769 is hosting a 1950's Garden Party on Saturday February 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Riggles Community Center, 240 N. Riggles Road. This location is just North of Arco Gas Station. All women and men are invited to join us for an afternoon of food; music; dancing; door prizes and basket raffl es for both women and men. Door prizes include jewelry; paintings; a 2-night stay at River- side Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, NV; a 2-night stay at Bluewater Re- sort and Casino in Parker; a 40-inch Television and more. Entertainment and music will be provided by Elvis Presley, Michael Cullpeper. A donation of $15.00 covers food and a door prize ticket per person. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event.
