All of our members have returned anxious to share their new projects and skills. If you would like to learn to quilt or enjoy new quilting techniques, we meet from 9 AM until 3 PM. Annual dues are $10 for the Club and $5 for the Senior Center. The calendar for January - Feb- ruary includes fi eld trips, beginner quilting and paper piecing offered by Fran, one of our generous mem- bers. All information is available at our meetings. January 21 Judy Halvorson will be teaching the Disappearing Pin- wheel. Two 11" squares of contrast- ing fabric are needed. January 26 6 PM Sunday evening at the Community Bible Church 375 East Sunrise St Quartzsite, Judy Halvorson, in period dress, will be speaking on The History of Civil War Quilt's. There will be a raffl e quilt made from quilt squares that Judy won at our Quilt Show last year. January 28 Shelley Day will be demonstrating the 10 Sisters piping tool. If you ever wanted perfect pip- ing this is for you! Preparations are underway for our From the Heart Quilt Show on Feb- ruary 7 and 8. Entries are open to everyone on Thursday February 6. Exact information and times will be available at our meetings. There are seven categories: Large, medium and small quilts, Art quilts, Wall hangings, Household items, Wearable art. This year our featured artist is Barb Williams. Barb is a self-taught quil- ter who has gained National rec- ognition in the Cherrywood Fabric Challenge, where she was required to use hand dyed purple fabrics rep- resenting the singer Prince. Her quilt is still touring the country. She has also entered her work in the Bob Ross Challenge, her County Fair and of course our show. Barb has frequently shared her ex- pertise with our Guild. For many years she taught classes on Painting with Stiks which brought so much pleasure to our members. We are proud to have you meet our former President and wonderful friend at the Quilt Show.
