He's doing 10 road shows, released a new single, and a new album, pro- duced an album of his Dad's music, is producing albums on" Sons of the Pioneers", "Tex Ritter", and "Merle Travis" and has released 6 CDs this year! Will somebody teach that boy what retirement means??(Many of us here in Quartzsite have done a better job of retiring then this!) Rex says he retired "from the road" in 2017, but too many people complained, so he decided to do 10-15 road shows. And Quartzsite is one of those 10 or so road shows! We are so special! The album celebrating his Dad's 100th birthday contains songs newly discovered and old masters. Rex says, "I really enjoyed putting together Dad's old music for his birthday. I've released two CDs of songs by my Dad that have not been released ever." Some of you may remember about 10 years ago when Barbara Fairch- ild had a tent here in Quartzsite and Rex was a featured guest. He seems to have fond memories of that and maybe this is why he's including us in his 10 concerts. Rex started singing at age 6 and followed in his Dad's footsteps even narrating some Disney fi lms. Asked when he's going to retire, he pon- ders and says, "I guess when people I really respect say, 'Rex, you really need to stop.'" But until then let's be glad he's coming to the Quartzsite Improvement Association on Feb- ruary 4th at 7 p.m. Advance tickets, available at QIA will be $15. Tickets at the door will be $20. Don't miss this, perhaps your last chance to hear and see a great performer, Rex Allen Jr. The QIA is located at 235 E. Iron- wood. Offi ce is open Monday through Friday 9am-12noon. 928-927-6325.
