December 18, 2019 www.DesertMessenger.com 5 Silent Auction success Operation Hero Comfort had our annual Fund Raiser – Silent Auc- tion on Sat 12/14, it was a huge success. We would like to thank everyone came volunteered to help with this project and everyone who came and bid on items. We would to thank QIA (Quartzsite Improve- ment Assoc.) for allowing us to use their building again this year. We had more donations this year and therefore we raised more money than previous years. Many people brought items and cards to send to the troops. Gene and Maggie Ross held a raffl e for two quilts and raised money for us. Richard Trusty won the 50/50 drawing and donated his half back. We send packages every two weeks to fi ve units and each unit gets two. Postage is currently $18.45 and there have been many times this year when our shelves have been close to empty. We have needed to purchase items to send to the troops as well. That is where all of the mon- ey raised will go. We would also like to thank all of the individual people, businesses and vendors who donated items. When you see any of these people or walk into one of these places, please thank them for their support.
