his past spring, the alumni board voted to extend our capital
improvements mortgage with Northwest Bank by $100, 000 to
finance fraternity house bathroom upkeep and planned parking
lot renovations. In addition to mortgage payments, major uses of alumni
board funds include property taxes, insurance, repairs, and maintenance.
These expenses account for roughly 80% of our annual budget.
I view the alumni board budget as supporting the sustainability of our
property. The pie charts displayed on this page demonstrates how the
alumni board sources and uses cash, as of September year-to-date.
The undergraduate treasurer, currently Sean Gallagher '21, is
responsible for ensuring collection of house dues and establishing the
undergraduate semester budget. Undergraduate uses of funds include
meal expenses, social events, and various brotherhood activities
throughout this semester. This provides our undergraduate treasurer
with valuable experience managing finances and the ability for the
undergraduates to determine the uses of funds.
