Hair, Nails, and Pedicure Services Soup & Chowder Festival planned Dec. 14 FINAL VISIT We visited Quartzsite for the fi rst time in January 2019 to visit a friend, Ron Brenton, who we me during their Air Force careers and remained friends through the years. While there I (Sam) climbed a hill that overlooked their neigh- borhood and took this picture of the American fl ag Ron had point- ed out to us when he was showing us around Quartzsite. Ron passed away in September 2019 and we are so glad that we made the trip from Alaska to Arizona to visit Ron and his wife Dee. You never know when you will have your last visit with old friends. Join the VFW Post 769 in Quartzsite, December 7th, 2019 from 11am-3pm. Our post is having a Family Freedom Christmas Festival, an event which is open to the pub- lic. We will have food, music and a chance to make gifts for your family and friends. We are inviting local venders and businesses to also join us and show/ sell their products in supporting this community event. Bring fam- ily and friends and join us for a fun time for all. Family Freedom Christmas Festival planned Dec. 7 The plans for the Annual Soup and Chowder Festival are going pretty well. Entertainment is all set. It is going to be different from previous years but I think everyone will en- joy it. The Festival is planned for Saturday, December 14, starting at noon until soup runs out. We are still looking for a few more soup or chowder entries, and more Dessert donations. As last year, there will be one special prize for the best dessert, and trophy cups for the Peoples choice and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place on the Soups or Chowders.
