Meanwhile, Linda is focused on a new Christmas creation – hundreds of hand-painted ornaments made from oyster shells. Most are Santa faces, each different from the next, with different hats and expressions. One wears a coonskin hat, others blue or black hats bedecked with stars, still others have hats with emblems or colors from different ACC schools. "I couldn't do this many if they weren't all different," she said. e ornaments can hang from a tree but can also be individually framed to make a special statement. ey'll be on display and for sale at a show on Nov. 19 from noon to 7 p.m. at Lisa's Custom Framing in Haymount. "Mother started this, too," Linda said of the oyster shell ornaments. Zula Barton saw faces in the ridges on the shells and painted what she saw there. So now does her daughter.
