Among her many past professions, she sculpted Santas out of resin for a company which then made molds of the figurines and created ornaments for sale. Carol Goforth has a large gourd painted like a holiday bunny that Linda created for her in honor of a past pet. Linda comes by it naturally. Her mother, Zula Barton, was clever and creative with craing, too. Among her creations are Christmas ornaments made from eggshells. Linda said her father, Reginald Barton, was an egg farmer and, years ago, would bring the family any odd- sized eggs – those that looked too big or too little with the other eggs in a carton. Somewhere along the way, Zula got the idea to make ornaments from eggshells, snipping openings in the shells, placing tiny figurines inside and decorating the exterior of the shells with colorful sewing trim. e eggs range in size. Linda said some were probably goose eggs that Zula acquired. ere are also tiny eggs that she likely found on the ground aer a baby bird had hatched. Zula made about 75 egg ornaments and Linda about 75 more. Here's how: Punch a little hole where you want the bigger hole to be and let the egg yolk and albumen drain out. Draw a circle for the bigger hole and use baby manicure scissors to cut the opening. Note: Do the cutting while the shell is Linda Tillman creates unique Christmas ornaments from eggshells and oyster shells. Her love of crafting was inspired by her mother Zula Barton.
