R
ecently, New Hampshire Beta worked with Durham city
officials to amend the conditional use permit for our chapter
house. It used to state that no alcohol was allowed in any of the
common areas of the house, but thanks to the efforts of many of
our brothers the planning board for the town of Durham decided to
remove that restriction. This means we will be able to host more
events at the house, especially for alumni.
FALL ACTIVITIES AND ALUMNI CONNECTIONS
With that said, we enjoyed hosting alumni at the chapter house
for Homecoming on October 5. Thank you to those who stopped
by to reconnect with New Hampshire Beta and meet all our active
members.
We are participating in Movember again this year—it was a great
success last year. We've grown out our mustaches and raising
awareness and money for a prostate cancer cure. We are also
working with the rest of Fraternity and Sorority Life at UNH to
host a hockey tournament for the entire Durham community, the
Durham Cup. We hope it will be a huge event at the Whittemore
Center, where the whole community can come together and enjoy
hockey. There are also going to be local businesses setting up
tables at the event, so stop by to support the community
of Durham.
As always, we are thankful for alumni support and welcome you to
stop by the chapter house whenever you are in the Durham area.
We would love to welcome you home and introduce you to the
young men following in your footsteps and carrying on your New
Hampshire Beta legacy.
