ver the summer, Recruitment Chairmen
Nick Swan '18, Zach Lanham '17, and
Calvin Kyker '19 worked hard to recruit
36 new members to the Gamma Theta brotherhood.
I am proud to announce that we are back up over
100 members—109 to be exact. This increase
has led to higher Gamma Theta involvement on
campus, in our Greek community, and the city of
Lincoln. I am also proud to announce that our GPA
for the spring semester was a 3.108—the highest
GPA we've had since 2014. Not only did we crush
the UNL all-men's average, but this made us True
Merit eligible, something we have been aiming
for since our return to campus in 2016. We hope
to continue this growth in all categories of chapter
operations.
Additionally, Treasurer Nate Allgood '19,
Secretary Rowdy Melton '19, and I attended the
ATΩ's National Award Banquet this summer.
It was an awesome experience to share and
talk with ATΩ leaders from around the nation.
Although we didn't bring home the elusive True
Merit Bowl, we didn't return empty-handed. We
received excellence awards in all three categories
(Recruitment, Scholarship, Upper Alpha). This is a
huge accomplishment, but like any group hungry to
improve, we will not stop until we obtain our 28th
True Merit Bowl.
This will be my last time writing to you all as
acting president of Gamma Theta, and it has been
an amazing and rewarding experience. I'd like to
thank you all, on behalf of the whole chapter, for
making all these accomplishments and important
moments possible. Without your unwavering
support, we would not be where we are today. Stop
by the chapter house the next time
you are in Lincoln.
