THE TOMAHAWK Theta Chi at ISU 3 Anudeep Akula Syed Al-Hussain Drake Baldwin Logan Brown Daniel Chrisman Davis Foughty William Hager Derek Hale Jack Harris Ian Hunter Jacob Kienzle Maximillian Lisowski Jack Miller Jaxson Mrzena Lwembo Mwenyi Jace Rea Brycen Roffey Travis Schrunk Matthew Silva Wyatt Spohn Jerome Stivers Cole Stykel Ethan Tarantinio Cooper Warner Benjamin Wulf Welcome, New Members A lpha Mu entered the fall coming off of a 323 spring GPA, a significant improvement from 305 in fall 2018 This increased GPA placed us among the top 4 fraternities on campus in terms of academics We hope to continue this academic success this year Using our academic success as a talking point, Alpha Mu had a record-setting summer for recruitment as we welcomed 25 new members This is the largest new member class in a decade for our chapter Shoutout to Recruitment Chairmen Gunnar Maddock '20 and Patrick Allen '21 for their hard work to make this achievement possible Nationals has noticed Alpha Mu's growth and improvement at Iowa State as one of our active members attended the Initiative Academy in Indiana over the summer At the academy, we received a chapter achievement award, which only 12 chapters receive We're all humbled to accept this award and we're proud of the academic improvements our chapter members have made However, we will continue striving to be better as the year progresses Alpha Mu will be going through this academic year with high standards, and we hope to achieve greatness both at Iowa State and nationally Thanks to all the hard work of our active members and alumni, our chapter is thriving once again As always, please feel free to stop by the chapter house for a visit while you're on campus Fraternally, Joshua Wankel '21 Chapter President Alpha Mu Welcomes Largest Class in 10 Years Theta Chi Cracks Top 4 in Academics, Receives Chapter Achievement Award President Ted Hovda '73 Garner, Iowa Vice President Andy Nelson '07 Chanhassen, Minn. Treasurer Alan Terrell '00 Bettendorf, Iowa Chapter Advisor Dr. Jon Fleming '75 Ames, Iowa Directors 2019 Alumni Weekend Recap I n what has become a wonderful annual tradition, more than 100 alumni, family, and friends attended this year's Alumni Weekend Highlights included golfing at Veenker Memorial Golf Course, an informal Friday evening reception followed by Saturday's pregame tailgate, and an exciting Cyclones victory over the University of Northern Iowa These photos are just a taste of the good times had by all Thank you to everyone who was able to attend If you would like to join the festivities next year, keep an eye out for 2020 Alumni Weekend information coming soon Alumni Corporation Board Ed Gschneidner '83 | Edina, Minn.
