Halloween party Quartzsite Police Department (QPD) an- nounced September 28, 2019 they have been awarded a grant from the Gila River Indian Community State Shared Revenue Program. Chief William Ponce and staff sought out any and all grant funding to help reduce the pres- sure of the Town's limited budget for much needed updated equipment. QPD and La Paz County Sheriff's Offi ce, who provides dispatching services for the depart- ment, have been working collaboratively to improve dispatching services for the Town. This service includes Computer Aided Dispatching and Records Management system that can be accessed in the fi eld. The Quartzsite Police Department submitted a grant proposal to the Gila River Indian Commu- nity and has been awarded $42,394.00 to pur- chase computers and mounts for their current fl eet. This helps further advance the department in providing better public safety services to the Town of Quartzsite residents and visitors. QPD would like to thank the Gila River Indian Community and Community Tribal Council for selecting the Quartzsite Police Department for the State Shared Revenue Grant.
