Their families and friends are in our thought and prayers as we all grieve this loss. They were killed this past weekend in vehicle accident on Highway 95 out of Parker. Through our tears and in our sorrow, know that God holds us all close. We thank Pastor Jeremiah from the Alliance Church of Quartzsite for leading our volunteers in a prayer gathering. We also thank Coyote Market for graciously pro- viding doughnuts for us. We are surrounded by a community of love. We are seeing a lot of returning and many new shoppers. Welcome to Quartzsite everyone. Did you know? Your local Salva- tion Army is a Thrift Store and a Service Center. We are still on summer hours until our winter visitors get settled in and return to their volunteer positions at the store. It takes a village to run the store. Watch on Facebook and Google for our day/hour change notifi cation. Call cell and leave a message if you have urgent issues that can't wait. Donations are accepted during open hours or with a phone call if necessary. Our motto, "would I give this item to a friend?" when decid- ing what to donate. Our town has no charge "dump" just north of town. We have a medical needs room with walkers, crutches, potty chairs, wheelchairs, etc. that we loan out by request. We also have a diaper program for adults and seniors. This is a free give-a-way program that you can be serviced monthly with photo identifi cation. You never know what donations we get. We received over 300 shop- ping carts of donations last month, plus large items like furniture, a table saw, a like new bicycle last month! It takes many hands in the back to get items ready quickly to the fl oor. Our summer volunteers have been diligent in keeping up with your wonderful donations. Awesome summer workers: BJ, Dee, Jane, Joan, Marcia, Neal, Wanda, Patty, and Wanda. We are blessed with an awesome team. We have a silent auction fund- raising event for the QPD Explorer Post 928. Come see a one-of-a kind upcycled Halloween wall decora- tion and place your bid. We have 34 choir robes with col- lars that would like to fi nd a new home. Various sizes. Please ask. Thanks! Comfort comes in many ways- a thoughtful prayer, a gentle smile, a loving hug. Be kind and compassionate to one another. Be happy.
