THE ZETA CHI PIKELINE ZETA CHI WINS FIRST EVER SMYTHE AWARD "We knew we were close last year, and to have not taken home our first Smythe would have greatly surprised me." – Zach Dumas, Chapter Advisor ZETA CHI WINS MULTIPLE AWARDS FROM PIKE HEADQUARTERS e elusive and highly coveted Robert Adger Smythe Award is the center stage event of the awards ceremony at the International Academy held in Memphis in August. To the chapter and alumni association, winning awards is nothing new. "I know this has become routine, but the energy and effort for Zeta Chi Alumni Association to sustain excellence should not go unannounced," says Alumni Association President Jeff Counts. For the ninth year in a row, the Zeta Chi Alumni Association was recognized as a William R. Nester Alumni Association of the Year Award recipient, representing the top 10 per- cent of alumni associations, at the Academy. CELEBRATE WITH US AT MSU HOMECOMING 2019! Zeta Chi Alumni Association and Chapter look forward to the best Homecoming yet on October 25th and 26th! As we gather to celebrate the SMYTHE, we have also planned a weekend of exciting events. For the full agenda, please see the schedule on page two. e chapter has worked tireless- ly to achieve this monumental milestone. Let us do our part to support this first ever achievement. To register, visit www.zetachipikes.com today, and help us spread the word to other brothers. SEE YOU THERE! FUND-A-NEED To enhance our annual giving campaign, we will be host- ing online fundraisers on our Facebook page, website, and through eblasts. We will identify areas in our budget that need funding and ask our alumni to support these worthy causes. For example, we need to send a large delegation of active members to the next Pike International Conven- tion in 2020. Under the "Fund-A-Need" approach we will outline the costs to send one student and ask alumni to donate to this efort. Funds collected will be used for the specific cause. We have so many needs that are crucial to our association and chapter that go unfunded each year. I want to congratulate the chapter on winning our first Smythe Award. We are so proud and could not be happier to see the chapter doing so well. I can't wait to celebrate at homecoming. –Jeff Counts, Alumni Association President Fall 2019
