MSEd Literacy Specialist Choose the path that works for you. Choose between an Early Childhood/Childhood (birth–grade 6) or Middle Childhood/Adolescent (grades 5–12) concentration and, aer a 12-credit core curriculum, take a 15-credit sequence of courses in your concentration. Your program culminates in a practicum with clinical and school experiences and a related teacher-as-researcher course project. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS (Duration of Program: 2 Years) This 100% online degree program is designed for individuals who already hold a provisional or Initial Certificate or the equivalent. The program simultaneously prepares classroom teachers to enhance their knowledge of literacy to be more effective classroom teachers and also to be literacy specialists in their schools. This 30-credit program leads to permanent or professional certificate in the Teaching of Literacy to Early Childhood/Childhood or Middle Childhood/Adolescent students.
