PI KAPPA ALPHA • UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS • FALL 2019 J une 28, 2019, marked an important mile- stone in the centennial Pike house con- struction project. Beta Mu Building Co. held a celebratory groundbreaking ceremony at 2400 Leon Street with local alumni donors, our contractor and architects and, important- ly, representatives of the chapter who will be occupying the new facility and building on 100 years of Pike values, traditions, and brotherhood in Austin. Beta Mu Building Co. President Bert Dement '66 presided over the ceremony and noted, "Our board, on behalf of 2,500 alumni, is excited to design and deliver a new house at this same site, built for the modern fraternity man and intend- ed to serve the chapter for many years ahead." With the oversight of our owners' representa- tives, Wayne Lott '70 and David Lott '71, the new house is coming out of the ground quickly and we should be ready to deliver our new Beta Mu home in August 2020. Campaign Chairman John A. Rathmell Jr. '76 said, "We are grateful to the many alumni do- nors who have supported this important project to date and would not be at this point without their early commitments. We now need broad support of our alumni to complete our goal of INSIDE: Donor List • 2-3 Donor Spotlight • 3 Getting to Know Pike President • 4-5 New Members • 6 THE NEW PIKE HOUSE IS UNDERWAY!
