Thank you, again, for giving back to the Chapter—it truly does make a difference! B eta-Chi is wrapping up one of its most successful recruitments. With the closing of Opening Week, Beta-Chi received 32 signed bid cards. As you have read, the university implemented a system that penalizes members moving into Greek houses after certain dates throughout the summer, requiring a revamp of our recruitment procedures. This aided us in remaining the most dominant fraternity on campus. With this large pledge class, Beta-Chi has put into motion the expansion of our weight room, which will draw in new members. On July 8, delegates of Beta-Chi attended the 72nd biennial Grand Conclave in Charlottesville, Va., to celebrate our 150th anniversary. This was the first time Conclave was hosted at our headquarters, and the event was truly astounding. Beta-Chi was pleased to accept many awards in philanthropy, service, and ritual. As the fall semester begins, Beta-Chi's focus is on improving scholarship and winning Greek Week. We will unveil a new scholarship program to aid in the improvement of overall Chapter academics. As for Greek Week, preparations have been in the works since mid-spring. Beta-Chi looks forward to bringing home another Greek Week win in the upcoming months. The end of the spring semester was an incredibly difficult time for the Brothers of Beta-Chi with the loss of Brother Patrick Beasley '14. Undergraduates and alumni of Beta-Chi have since raised more than $7,000 to fund a Mining Scholarship in his name. The Chapter would like to thank everyone for all their support and contributions in this remembrance of Patrick. A.E.K.Δ.B., Cameron Jarvis '17 Grand Master cmjmb2@mst.edu (314) 814-3145 BETA-CHI WINS BIG AT CONCLAVE Preparing for a Strong Fall Semester Chapter Celestial Harold "Bud" Burke '50 entered Chapter Celestial on June 4, 2019. Bill Ricketts '58 writes, "Bud was a Mizzou cheerleader who could get the entire stadium roaring. He was famous in Missouri." Ronald E. Reinke '62 entered Chapter Celestial on April 11, 2019, in Springfield, Mo. Ron worked in the automotive industry after serving as a captain in the Air Force at Kirtland Air Force base in Albuquerque, N.M. He had several hobbies over the years, including motorcycles, cameras, sailing, reading, and Corvettes. Ron is survived by his wife, Brenda; two daughters, Valerie and Kellie; a son- in-law, Tony Manasseri; two grandsons, Roman and Brock; two siblings, Anita Nagel and Glenn Reinke; and several nieces and nephews.
