FALL 2019 EDITION
ALPHA ETA NEWSLETTER
oklahoma state university
T
he building project and the capital campaign are both headed
down the stretch with the finish line in sight. The completion date
remains questionable, but we're pushing hard for December. We've
experienced a delay of 46 days due to weather and lost approximately two
months due to permit problems with the City of Stillwater. All construction
projects have challenges, but our delays have been excessive and costly.
The good news is we will have a facility that everyone will be extremely
proud of, one that makes it possible for Alpha Eta to successfully compete
for top-quality young men. The house is well designed, the quality of
construction is outstanding, and it should meet the needs of our Chapter
for decades.
Our fundraising efforts continue, and though we still have $1 million to
raise it is significant that 133 brothers have donated or signed written
pledges for over $3.4 million. Every donor and every dollar are important,
but I do want to share examples of brothers who gave in different ways.
We received significant gifts from Ryan Radcliff AH1301 and Lonnie
Eggleston AH833, both new donors. Scott Pryor AH1218 gave an
additional $100,000 when he challenged and matched the donations of
brothers from the '80s. Chris Conn AH930 was an early donor who
has come back and doubled his gift. Vince Kirkes AH1402 was able to
double his $25,000 donation with a match from his corporate employer.
We have several men who have gifted stock. Keep in mind that gifts and
pledges of $25,000 or more can be tax deductible.
If you haven't made your commitment, please do it today, and then
ask others to join you in financially supporting this once-in-a-lifetime
project. All pledges may be spread over five years to increase your giving
capacity.
