10 - SENIOR Health Fair - September 11, 2019 The name and location may have changed, but the mission remains the same. Adult Day NWA (formerly known as Village House) has moved from their Bella Vista location in the Highlands Crossing building to the Frisco Station Mall in Rogers, behind Hobby Lobby. The non-profit program will continue to provide a vibrant adult day program of recreational and educational activities for participants – senior adults and their caregivers. Although moving was a difficult deci- sion to make, Sara explains that the loca- tion is ideal for a number of reasons. "We will share a parking lot with the Rogers Adult Wellness Center, which offers exercise programs for seniors," she notes. "They have 12,000- plus senior members. Several caregiv- ers have expressed concern that they can't come to the Wellness Center to do their exercise or participate in their hobby programs because they don't have anywhere to take their spouses. So the fact that we're going to be sharing a park- ing lot with them is a huge advantage for so many people who will be able to take advantage of both programs." Another big plus for the new location is the access to public transportation through Ozark Regional Transit. "They have two stops a day at what will be our main entrance," Sara points out. "With transportation being such a hurdle for so many people to actually get to our program, we are thrilled about that." Expanding the mission Sara says the move was also a time to consider changing the name of Village House Adult Day Program to better reflect an expanded mission and service area. "I can't tell you how many times over the years I've heard people say 'I've heard of Village House, but what is it?'" Sara continues. "That really forced us to explore changing our name. We decided to go with 'Adult Day NWA' in order to communicate the message of what we really do." Adult Day NWA will continue serving its Bella Vista residents and Sara says they are working on various transporta- tion options. Sara and the board welcome feedback and input and are grateful for all the support they have received from this wonderful community, as they continue in their new location. "We look forward to meeting our potential, so that at the end of the day we can help as many people as possible," Sara notes. "There is such a need in our community and we hope to expand our scope to serve even more seniors with our program."
