"It's decreasingly common for university presidents to live on campus," said Stanley T. Wearden, who became president of Methodist on Jan. 1. "Most live off-campus in housing provided by the university." But Wearden and his wife, Deborah Davis, have found they enjoy living at the northern edge of the Methodist campus. ey get to chat with students and others who may walking by. Commuting to work is a snap for him. And the couple have gotten a real sense of the life of the campus. "ere's a lot of energy here," Wearden said. "And it's a 24-7 job so I might as well be here."
