weather interferes, Poe House performances are moved
into the fellowship hall of the neighboring St. Michael the
Archangel Maronite Church.
• June 4-20: "Knight's Tale: Shakespeare's e Two Noble
Kinsmen," described as both beautiful and inspiring,
celebratory and serious, will also be performed at the Poe
House.
is is Sweet Tea Shakespeare's seventh season. e
theater company is known for its unconventional staging
of classic theater pieces, oen using modern music as an
accompaniment.
e company says it aims to "engage a diverse community
with accessible, imaginative, magical theater, inspired by
Shakespeare and the early modern spirit, heightened by

Other theatrical productions are planned this year by
Fayetteville State University, Methodist University and the
University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
On Oct. 24-27, the FSU eatre Company will perform
its fall musical, "Children of Eden," which based on the
book of Genesis. On Nov. 14-17, Methodist University is
staging "e Library," a drama about a school shooting.
e Givens Performing Arts Center at UNC-P will be
hosting three theatrical productions this season (among
many other events) – the comedy "Noises Off!" on Nov. 14-
15, "e Color Purple" on March 20 and "An American in
Paris" on April 28.
