Bonded - Insured BLM Approved Serving Quartzsite and Surrounding Areas Fall Family Fun Fair planned Fall Family Fun Fair Sept. 14th 11am-1pm Carol's Chalkboard is inviting families with children to the fi rst an- nual Fall Family Fun Fair Saturday, September 14th, 11 am - 1 pm at the Quartzsite Senior Center. This event will be hosting an array of different activities and opportunities for children ages birth to 16. Organizations and individuals will be sharing information about programs or services related to youths and families in Quartzsite and surrounding areas. A free lunch will be served to those attending. Fall-related crafts and activities will be offered at each table. Drawings, prizes, and gift bags will also be given out to children attending. As many know our post supports Veterans and family and many of our vets are unable to do this job, so we are seeking help to do hire someone to clean so it's ready for this season. The tour includes the Visitor Center exhibits, Peninsula and Delta Trails, and will focus on the Refuge's habitat types and the plants and animals that use them. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended; and be sure to bring water, binoculars, sun screen and a hat to help make this an enjoyable experience! Located in a transition zone between the Mojave and Sonoran deserts, the Bill Williams River National Wild- life Refuge has a unique ecosystem that provides excellent habitat for many resident and migratory wild- life, including birds, reptiles, but- terfl ies, mammals and amphibians, as well as a diverse array of plants. It also contains the largest remain- ing stand of native cottonwood and willow forests in the lower Colorado River. Tour Information • Months: Sep-May • Group Size: No limit • Departure Times: 8am • Length of tour: 2 hr The Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge protects the lower course of the Bill Williams River, to its mouth at Lake Havasu reservoir, in western Arizona. It is located within eastern La Paz and Mohave Counties, in the Lower Colorado River Valley region. Bill Williams Wildlife Refuge is home to over 6,000 acres of habitat, 355 species of birds, 34 documented reptiles, 40 species of butterfl ies, 57 species of mammals, 7 amphibians, and a plethora of indigenous wild- life.
