L I N C O L N — L i n d s e y Thompson likes to combine activities involving riding horses and servanthood to discover adventure. Thompson is a candi- date for the 2019 Lincoln Riding Club queen, who ke e p s b u sy wo rk i n g a t Teen Adventure Ranch at Morrow overseeing the equine program. She has also volunteered at New Life Ranch and Special Needs Touch Program. Thompson is the 21-year- old daughter of Troy and J e s s i c a T h o m p s o n , o f Siloam Springs. Thompson is a sophomore at North- west Arkansas Community College studying to obtain an elementary education degree. T h o m p s o n h a s b e e n riding her whole life and has three horses that she rides, Pepper, Land Yap, and Pretty Girl. Thompson loves to barrel race and was also with the Sky High Angels Drill Team for three years. Thompson has won a ranch rodeo, participated in play days and done queen competitions in which she won horsemanship awards. Thompson has held two titles so far, which are Miss Siloam Springs in 2015 and Miss Rodeo of the Ozarks in 2018. Rodeo has always been a huge part of Thomp- son's life and that is why she would love to become M i s s L i n c o l n R i d i n g Club. Thompson wants to promote the great sport of rodeo as well as the Lincoln Riding Club. "I hope that in everything I do that I leave a positive impact on those around me," Thompson said. L I N C O L N — Th e ga m e of thrones Elyse Perdue intends to play occurs on horseback, at least part of the time. P e r d u e h a s a l w a y s w a n t e d t o p a r t i c i p a t e i n q u e e n i n g , b ut n eve r pursued it. She says she has decided to step out of her comfort zone and experience something new. That decision promoted her into becoming a candi- date for the 2019 Lincoln Riding Club queen. Perdue, 19, is the daugh- ter of Paul and Lori Perdue, of Gentry. She is currently a sophomore at the Univer- sity of Arkansas Fort Smith m a j o r i n g i n B i o l o g y – Biomedicine professions. Perdue strives to become a Pediatric Neurologist. Perdue has been riding most of her life. She rides a 14-year-old sorrel geld- ing by the name of Beaux, which she has ridden for seven years. Among her experiences, Perdue rode w i t h t h e Ro d e o o f t h e O z a r k s Ro u n d e r s f o u r years. She loves community s e r v i c e a n d c u r r e n t l y volunteers at Healing by Horseback — a hippa ther- apy program for special needs children. Perdue is also involved in a pediat- ric therapy program, plus volunteers with her soror- ity Delta Gamma at various activities. She enjoys camping, trail riding, drawing, but most of all just spending time with her friends and family. Perdue says she would love to participate and encourage her peers as well as the youngsters to get involved in the sport of rodeo. "I feel that I could bring leadership and encourage- ment, as well as steward- ship to this association," P e r d u e s a i d . " I h o p e through this experience I gain new skills, friend- ships, and learn more of queening and pageantry. I'm excited for this expe- rience and everything it offers."
