HAVE
SOME HEARTS
Muse Showroom and Platinum Guild International (PGI) USA teamed up to debut a charm
collection at the recently held Couture jewelry show that's right on trend: hearts.
Dubbed Have A Heart: Platinum Edition, it features 25 heart charms made in platinum by eight
different designers selected by Jennifer Shanker, co-founder of Muse. Designers include Guita M,
Luis Morais, Maria Canale, Michelle Fantaci, Nancy Newberg, Stephanie Windsor, Sylva et Cie, and
Ten Thousand Things. Some sale proceeds will benefi t City Meals on Wheels, Project ALS, and
Joyful Heart, and project ambassadors affi liated with the charities will help call attention to the jewels
through events. Retail prices for charms range from $500 to $35,000 and are offered for sale online
at modaoperandi.com.
According to Kevin Reilly, vice president of PGI International USA, the goal was to remind
jewelry collectors that platinum isn't just for wedding jewelry.
"Platinum is the best choice for your engagement ring and wedding band and for securely setting
gemstones, but it's also an amazing choice for your jewelry beyond the relationship category," he
explains.
Also important to know: Johnson Matthey generously donated one ounce of platinum to
designers with which to create pieces. And while the jewels are certainly pretty, they weren't made to
sit untouched like museum exhibits. "These were made with the intention to sell," confi rms Reilly.
